Catalonia will not Eliminate its own Organisations

  • 16 Aug 13
Andreu-Mas-ColellThe Minister of the Economy and Knowledge of the Catalan Autonomous Government, Andreu Mas-Colell, has said that Catalonia will not eliminate its own organisations, as for example the Syndicate of Greuges and the Agency for the Quality of the university System of Catalonia (AQU).
During yesterday’s meeting of the Council of Fiscal and Financial Policies (CFFP) with the Minister of Finance and Public Administration, Cristobal Montoro, Andreu Mas-Colell has also clarified that the Catalan Autonomous Government is keeping a very transparent attitude regarding the fact that the autonomies should receive a third of the total objective of the public deficit. Andreu Mas-Colell expressed this concept after having explained the pilot program of a double Kindergarten-Primary teaching degree to the media at the Ministry of Economy, where he said during the meeting that he will confirm the objective of the 1.3% of the deficit for the communities, returning then to repeat that Catalonia will not eliminate its own organisations. Another of the programs brought up by Andreu Mas-Colell and the financial officials will be the reform of the public administration carried out by the Catalan Autonomous Government, an aspect where the Minister of Economy sustains that Catalonia will not renounce “any powers” and reminded the media that the Catalonia will not eliminate its own organisations since in this sense, “it is already working to streamline the public sector and ‘cut out’ the public institutions that should be eliminated if necessary, what is oriented within the powers included in the Statute,” Andreu Mas-Colell concluded.
